How to appeal the SASSA SRD grant?
If you’ve encountered your application being rejected, then you can appeal to review your application. This process requires you to follow a set of steps, which are listed as follows:
- Visit the official website of the SASSA SRD grant.
- Go to the “South African ID Holders” section and click on the prompt suggesting you proceed.
- Click on the “Application status” to begin applying for the appeal.
- Enter the essential credentials asked, such as “ID number” and your registered mobile number, followed by submitting it.
Eligibility Criteria for SRD R350 Grant
Making sure you still comply with the eligibility criteria is important for self-verification, thus below are the eligibility requirements to be considered for the SRD R350 Grant:
- The person has to be a citizen or a permanent resident of South Africa.
- The applicant should be residing in South Africa.
- The age limit of the person must lie between 18 to 60 years.
- Applicants receiving a UIF(Unemployment Insurance Fund) won’t be considered for the SRD R350 grant.
- Essential details such as 13-digit ID Card number, mobile number, and bank account details must be correct.
- The person shouldn’t have any form of support for themselves and their family members. These may include government support, social grants, or unemployment benefits.
- The applicant must not be earning more than R624 per month.
- As per the DHA record, the case of an applicant registered as dead will also cause the application to get rejected.
SASSA R350 Grant
The SASSA R350, also known as the SRD Grant, is a social welfare program aiming to financially assist South African citizens, Refugees, Asylum Seekers, and Special Permit Holders affected by COVID-19 and have little to no source of income and are suffering because of it. Assistance is provided to individuals between the age limit of 18 to 60 years of age.
The appeal made by the applicants gets submitted to the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals(ITSAA). The appeal has to be made within 90 days after the rejection declaration. The candidates will thereby receive their status review by 60-90 days.
